This nice handful of single-action is an Abilene, a revolver produced by the now defunct United States Arms Company of Riverhead NY. The company was founded by Sig Himmelmann in the 1970’s, and the firearms he produced were top-quality, premium revolvers, which would stand up on par with anything in the current Freedom Arms line. The Abilene was in production during the 1970’s and into the 80’s, and was primarily designed for long range silhouette shooting. Unfortunately, US Arms Corporation did not stand the test of time, and the company went under in the 80’s. The brand was bought out by the AIG division of Mossberg, who continued production until parts ran out, at which point the Abilene was simply allowed to fade away. This example is chambered in 357 Magnum and features a 6-inch barrel, hardwood medallion grips, and a deep blue finish with only a light cylinder ring. Condition is very good.
