This unusual offering is a SITES Spectre HC pistol, a civilian version (i.e. semi-auto) of the Spectre M4, an Italian submachine gun produced by the SITES factory in Turin in the 1980’s. The M4 was a compact sub-gun designed for close combat at short ranges, and employed primarily by Swiss and Italian special forces. The Spectre HC is a striker-fired blowback firearm operating from a closed bolt. The trigger group is double-action with a decocker. This pistol employs very unconventional 50 and 30-round “Quad-Stack” magazines, a 4-column design allowing very high capacity in a small package. The Spectre HC was manufactured in the middle 1980’s and up to the late 1990’s and was available in several configurations and calibers, however the 1993 US Federal Assault Weapons Ban prohibited the further import and sale of them on the American market. Condition of this particular example is very good.
